Making a Gift of Stock

Stock Transfer Instructions
For Gifts to 10,000 Degrees (formerly Marin Education Fund)

Donor should contact his/her broker with transfer instructions and immediately notify Susan Mitchell, Development Director, that a stock transfer will be made by or at 415-451-4010). Donor will receive acknowledgement by mail from 10,000 Degrees.

If the stock is in a brokerage or bank trust account:

  • Instruct your broker/banker to transfer the gifted stock to 10,000 Degrees’ account at Charles Schwab Co., Inc with the following information:
    1. Address of 10,000 Degrees’ broker: Charles Schwab Co., Inc San Rafael
    2. 10,000 Degrees’s account number: SR-5919-2877
    3. DTC# (Deposit Trust Co.): #0164

If the gift is in the form of a stock certificate registered in the donor’s name:

  1. Ownership of the appropriate number of shares must be transferred to 10,000 Degrees and new certificate/s issued. Please contact for further instructions.

When notifying 10,000 Degrees that a stock transfer will be made, please provide the following information:

  1. Name of security, number of shares, name of donor’s broker or bank, if applicable
  2. Your name, address, and telephone
  3. The purpose of your gift (e.g. Annual Fund, pledge payment, other)
