How to Help
Our students are asking for your help to achieve their potential. Many of our graduates are the first in their family to earn a college diploma. When you give to 10,000 Degrees, you invest in your community. You give a career to the teacher who will inspire your child, the doctor who will treat your parent and the entrepreneur who will bring business to our community. Here's what your donation can do:
- $50 pays the UC application fee
- $500 helps a student get home for the holidays
- $1,500 allows a student to reduce her work hours so she can focus on her studies
- $6,500 covers the cost for a year's tuition at a California State School.

GIVE TIME
You can make a difference in a student’s life by becoming a mentor! A unique feature of the 10KD Institute is its Mentoring Program. This program matches 10KD Institute students with their own 10,000 Degrees adult volunteer mentor. As a mentor, you will receive training from 10,000 Degrees to help students get the support and information they need to get to college.
As a mentor, you will:
- Read essays and applications
- Help students meet deadlines
- Give advice about college choices
- Direct students to scholarship resources
- Tell students, “I believe in you!”
