ABOUT 10,000 DEGREES:
One of California’s leading college success nonprofits, 10,000 Degrees helps students from low-income backgrounds get to and through college. Thanks to comprehensive personal support, financial aid management, and academic counseling, more than 80% of 10,000 Degrees students earn Bachelor’s degrees, compared to 31% of their peers nationally. Because we believe all students can succeed, unlike most other college success organizations, there is no GPA requirement for students applying to 10,000 Degrees programs.
10,000 Degrees is a high-impact, outcomes-oriented organization, with a $10 plus million budget and over 50 staff. We operate in an entrepreneurial environment and are committed to continuous improvement, and we invest in our team so that each member has the opportunity to be the best they can be. We are seeking talent with superior critical thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
The Program Team provides advising, mentorship, and professional skills development to ensure its scholars are successful in and beyond college. Scholars are admitted into the program during the spring term of their senior year of high school. 10,000 Degrees plays an integral role in supporting its scholars as they make final matriculation decisions and readies them for the transition to higher education through a combination of personalized support and group programming. Once in college, the team offers one-on-one coaching through to graduation to help address, among others, academic, financial, and/or socio-emotional challenges that scholars experience on campus, to identify opportunities that enrich the college experience, and to position them for professional success upon graduation.
