Record High School Numbers!

At 10,000 Degrees, our goal is to help each and every student from low-income backgrounds in the North Bay get to and through college. This year, at the high school level, we’re very excited to report that we have accepted the largest class of juniors ever. At the same time, our high school senior class is the largest in our history. Needless to say, we are thrilled to help this many high school students and their families, and, with enough funding, we look forward to doing our part to help make their college dreams come.

Meanwhile, one of the more emotional experiences for 10,000 Degrees students takes place this time of year, when staff meets with high school seniors and their families to review financial aid awards as well as decide where they will attend college. Much of this work takes place after normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, when families are free to meet. What makes these meetings so special is that students realize the culmination of a multi-year college application process and the beginning of their lives as college students. It’s truly a magical and memorable moment!
