Starting in high school, students in the 10,000 Degrees program have the opportunity to be selected and trained for leadership roles as ambassadors, interns, workshop leaders, and peer and near-peer mentors.

Our program would not be as effective as it is without them. They bring energy, enthusiasm, and insight to our work.  They say to their peers, “It’s possible.”

They inspire hope.

High School Opportunities

Leadership Corps – are peer advisors to students in their own high schools and represent 10,000 Degrees at workshops and other events.

“I want to create opportunities for others in my community. In a perfect world, gender and race equality will be reached, and I want to be part of making that happen.”

College Opportunities

  • Student Advisors – help plan and run our weeklong Summer Intensive programs.
  • Planning Committee members – help plan and run the Success Starts Here event for students entering college.
  • College Ambassadors – are peer advisors to other students on their campuses.
  • Campus Representatives – represent their campuses at College Fairs during Summer Intensive programs
  • Moving Towards College Planning Committee – helps plan, organize, and facilitate the entire event for rising high school seniors

“The turning point in my education was when 10,000 Degrees came into my life and gave me hope that I could become the first one in my family to go to college.”

Alumni Leadership

Our 18,600 alumni are leaders in every field imaginable. Each year, we are fortunate that some of them return to 10,000 Degrees as leaders and role models, giving back to the program and communities that launched them.

saga10,000 Degrees Fellows

The 10,000 Degrees Fellowship Program is a highly selective one that brings recent college graduates back to work as leaders in the program. They are paired with College Advisors and work alongside them in our intensive college prep program for high school students and college success program for current college students. Fellows all lead workshops for students and families and represent 10,000 Degrees at charitable events. They also create and pursue their own Capstone Projects, each of which advances 10,000 Degrees’ work toward educational equity.

pepeBoard Members

Seven members of our alumni body have returned to serve on the 10,000 Degrees Board of Directors—three of them as chairs!
