Michael Lu
Thanks to his own hard work and the support of 10,000 Degrees, Michael graduated from UC Berkeley in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology. He's now pursuing his Master's in Science at Winthrop University, South Carolina where he's assistant teaching undergraduates in developmental biology and genetics.
Alexis Rodriguez
After participating in the 10KD Institute program, Alexis graduated from San Rafael High School and is a freshman at College of Marin. She has been inspired by the struggles of immigrants in her community, and plans to attend law school to become an immigration lawyer.
Gloria Garcia
Gloria attended the 10KD Institute and will be graduating from Dominican University in the Spring of 2012. She is double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy. It is her dream to work for the United Nations.
Ja’van Hall
Ja’van was a participant of Marin Education Fund’s Summer Institute program in 2008. He is staying on track for college by meeting with his mentor and attending workshops at Marin Education Fund. He is currently a senior at Tamalpais High School.
Nghiem Bui
A recent graduate of Boston College, he majored in Theology with a concentration in Ethics. He's now participating in Northwestern University's Graduate School of Education and Social Policy. As part of the " Inner City Teaching Corp" he will be teaching for two years in Chicago's public schools while taking classes for his Master's in Education.
Venee McGee
Venee was a 10KD Institute participant in 2008 and a 2009 Novato High School Graduate. She plans to attend College of Marin and save money to transfer to a four year school.
