Undergraduate Scholarships


Application is closed and will reopen January 1, 2016.

All applications must be submitted online, and no late submissions will be accepted. As each scholarship may require additional documents, please read all directions carefully to ensure that you submit everything required. All materials must be attached to the online application or postmarked by March 2, 2016.

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Enrolled in a program leading to student’s first associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or teaching credential during the 2016-2017 academic school year;
  • Enrolled in an average of 12 academic units per term during the 2016-2017 academic school year (or full time as designated by school).
  • Priority given to high school graduates from Marin and Sonoma County.

When you apply for a 10,000 Degrees Undergraduate Scholarship, you are automatically considered for these other scholarships. We will notify you if you qualify:

MCF/Buck Trust Scholarship

Purpose: To support Marin County high school graduates with significant financial need in their pursuit of higher education. Funded by the Marin Community Foundation’s Buck Trust, these scholarships are renewable annually up to a period of four years.

Award: Up to $5,000


Asian Scholarship

Purpose: Provide financial assistance to graduates of a Marin, Sonoma, or Napa County high schools of Asian descent that have significant financial need. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Interview required. This scholarship is a one year award.

Award: $1,000 – $3,000


Carol Bartz Scholarship

Purpose: Provide financial assistance to Marin County high school graduates with significant financial need in their pursuit of higher education majoring in science, math, or engineering.

Award: $5,000


Kai Chong Tong Scholarship

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to Chinese American students who are pursuing their undergraduate education at San Francisco State University. Must be a San Francisco State University student of Chinese American descent.

Award: Up to $1,000


Kent Rogers Kincaid

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to graduates of Tamalpais High School enrolling in college or a vocational program.

Award: $1,000 – $2,000


The Family Help Fund Lillian Oney

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to graduating Marin County high school seniors that have exceptional community service. Most awards are a one year scholarship. Interview required.

Award: Up to $4,000


Kryzanowski

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to graduates of Tamalpais High School or Ringgold High School enrolling in college.

Award: Up to $2,000


Laura Richardson Memorial Scholarship

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to graduates of Tomales High School that also attended West Marin Elementary and interested in medical/healing arts field.

Award: Awards vary


Marin Retirement Communities Scholarship

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to employees, children, or grandchildren of those that have worked at one of the Retirement Facilities in Marin County for at least one year (Retirement Facilities specified on application). Proof of employment required. Interview required.

Award: $1,000 – $2,000


Mill Valley Rotary Scholarship

Purpose and Eligibility: Provide financial assistance to graduating Tamalpais High School students with financial need. This scholarship is a one year award.

Award: $1,000 – $3,000
