Private Scholarships 101

Looking for more free money to pay for college next year? Of course you are. NOW is the time to investigate and apply for private scholarships for the 2012 -13 academic year.

Basics: Almost all scholarships will require a personal statement, GPA verification, and letter(s) of recommendation. Start getting your materials together today.

Deadlines: Many of these scholarships are due this month, with others due between now and May 2012. As always, earlier is better and more is better.

Places to start: www.fastweb.com, www.e4fc.org, and of course, the Financial Aid/Scholarship Office at your college. You don’t know until you ask!
