Access Program Manager, Konocti Unified School District


The Opportunity

The College Access Program Manager is an integral part of the 10,000 Degrees mission and our partnership with Hope Rising initiative in Lake County. This position will launch and lead our work with Lower Lake High school, developing and ensuring quality service delivery of all programming to students and families, as well as developing a strong partnership with Lower Lake High School (KUSD) school personnel, school district partners and local community based organizations.

This position will also provide direct support to seniors through assisting them in accessing college and career pathways, applying for financial aid, facilitating college readiness and success workshops for students and families, and representing the organization alongside the development team at fundraising events.

The College Access Program Manager may have the opportunity in the future to directly supervise a 10,000 Degrees College Access Fellow. This is a full-time exempt position.

Responsibilities:

Students and Families

  • Provide assistance to the senior class (with a focus on seniors from low income/underrepresented backgrounds) with financial aid submission, college applications & matriculation to college and career pathway programs.
  • Directly manage & provide 1:1 support to an assigned caseload of seniors from low-income/underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Support school wide efforts regarding financial aid submission for the senior class through in class & after school financial aid presentations & application clinics.
  • Deliver 10,000 Degrees college & career awareness curriculum through in class & after school workshops to students and families.Lead student recruitment strategy for the region and meet target recruitment goals for the 10,000 Degrees Scholarship & the College Opportunities Summit.
  • Co-facilitate & participate in 10,000 Degrees organization wide virtual student/family facing events.

Partnerships (in collaboration w/ Director of College Pathways)

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with school & district personnel through periodic partnership collaborative meetings throughout the year.
  • Closely collaborate w/ community based organizations through ongoing program strategy meetings & joint programming events/initiatives.
  • Co-lead the initial introduction/integration meetings for 10,000 Degrees at selected and prospective KUSD school sites and with local community-based organizations as needed
  • Lead the recruitment for school & community partner focused 10,000 Degrees Train the Trainer events

Program Management

  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate files and data in Salesforce; generate program reports for analysis
  • Utilize data (ongoing) to measure, assess & manage your regional goals
  • Cross collaborates with the College Access and Success Managers, Fellows & school staff for high school focused workshops & program strategy planning
  • Attend all access manager meetings (bi-weekly)
  • In collaboration with managers and fellows, plan & execute ongoing student & family outreach campaigns to reach regional goals
  • Collaborate with the Virtual Engagement Manager to create virtual program content for your program & streamline virtual program offerings
  • Manage Canva, Calendly & Zoom accounts for your program
  • Meet with Director of College Pathways (weekly) 1:1 to review goals & check in on challenges/successes

Organizational

  • Support the Development Team and represent 10,000 Degrees at fundraising events
  • Attend 10,000 Degrees advisory board meetings, and community partnership meetings and events
  • Participate in regular professional development activities, team work meetings and special events and trainings (some of which are held in the evening)
  • Regular travel within assigned regions to school campuses, 10,000 Degrees offices, and special event locations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

For this position, we believe that you will be the most successful if you have the following:

Professional Experiences:

  • Minimum 2 years professional experience working in a student serving position
  • Experience working financial aid counseling, college advising, or student support
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Skills & Characteristics:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write effectively and persuasively.
  • Able to project manage, by prioritizing multiple projects and tasks and creating work plans and timelines.
  • Excellent administrative and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, Google suite, and social media platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Canva is a plus.
  • High level of professionalism: promptness, preparedness, professional appearance
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple teams and people.
  • First-generation college graduates from low-income backgrounds are a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
  • Geographic proximity to the region being served

Location

This position will primarily be on campus at Lower Lake High School and you will be expected to come into our Santa Rosa or San Rafael office on occasion.
