The 10,000 Degrees Fellowship is an integral part of the 10,000 Degrees mission to support college graduates who change the world. The 10,000 Degrees Fellow assists with students accessing and succeeding in college and the workforce, applying for financial aid, facilitating a variety of workshops for students and families, and supporting the development team at fundraising events. During their first year, all Fellows will complete an original Capstone project of their own design on a topic relevant to their work. This is a 3-year commitment. This position will serve within the Napa region and will support our programming at a select high school site/s.
Responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum, support, and training to students participating in 10,000 Degrees programs
- Directly manage an assigned caseload of students
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings with staff
- Attend regular training seminars
- Maintain excellent relationships with school personnel, community partners, and program participants, as well as families via meetings, workshops, and social media
- Provide guidance and assistance to students and their families regarding career planning, college planning, and financial aid
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate files and data; generate program reports for analysis
- Travel within assigned regions
- Create an original Capstone research project during the first year
- Support 10,000 Degrees Development team at fundraising events
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Commitment to 10,000 Degrees’ mission, values, and goals
- Bachelor’s degree
- First-generation college graduates from low-income backgrounds preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- High level of professionalism: promptness, preparedness, professional appearance
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google applications, and Instagram
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative and the ability to work independently
- Willing to learn and be self-reflective
- History of working effectively as part of a team
Compensation Package:
- This is a full-time position: $21.55/hour, 40 hours /week, 52 weeks /year
- The Fellowship is a 3-year position commitment
