Virtual Curriculum/Engagement Manager

10,000 Degrees is a premier college success organization in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1981, the organization provides a comprehensive program assisting students from low-income households with intensive college prep, mentoring, college and financial counseling, scholarships and financial aid management and has helped thousands of them get to and successfully graduate college.

Postion Summary

This position is responsible for creating, designing, and implementing dynamic, culturally relevant, student-facing virtual curriculum, content, tools, and events. Working closely with our program team, content experts, and communications team, this position will be responsible for managing the design aspects of all curriculum needs. A key success factor for this role will be the ability to collaborate across teams and create content that resonates with students and programmatic partners while maintaining brand authenticity and alignment.


Design & Development

  • Collaborate cross-organizationally to deliver a branded and unified digital experience and meaningful curriculum content for our students and school partners.
  • Build and continually evolve a “Center of Excellence” model for creating and executing templates and brand guidelines for student-facing materials across virtual/digital channels.
  • Design, edit, and maintain virtual presentations, handouts, and social media content on topics, such as financial aid, college transfer, college matriculation and more.
  • Assist and train staff to produce videos of various lengths, including “train the trainer,” micro topic, compilation, and how-to videos.
  • Design bundled materials into toolkits that are readily available to staff and partners.
  • Create comprehensive event project plans, conduct regular checkpoints with deliverable owners, identify challenges as needed, and ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Be an expert user and go-to resource for Instagram, YouTube, Google Classroom, Zoom, Facebook, and TikTok, and be familiar with tools such as Flipgrid and Screencastify.
  • Research, create, and implement virtual student engagement best practices for the organization, keeping up to date on virtual event technologies and live event tools.


  • Assist staff to create and host dynamic and interactive online events, such as webinars, panels, and workshops utilizing the best virtual engagement tools.
  • Serve as virtual event host, as needed, to provide meeting and other technical support.
  • Maintain up-to-date materials on website and other portals.
  • Collaborate with multiple staff/teams to disseminate tools and resources via website, social media, and other platforms.

Report & Analyze

  • Design, analyze, and share findings on surveys to assess all virtual content and events in order to continually refine and improve student experience, and produce tools to meet their needs.
  • Track and report data such as attendance, online engagement, downloads, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS required.
  • Graphic design and video editing experience (preferably with Adobe Suite and Canva)
  • Bilingual in Spanish desired.
  • Strong attention to detail, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in college access and success or higher education desired.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, with impeccable judgment and initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep expertise in virtual and in-person facilitation for students and families.
  • Commitment to delivery of excellent customer service for results.
  • Ability to establish priorities and handle multitasking and interruptions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with all 10,000 Degrees constituencies and staff.

Normal hours:

Weekdays 9 AM to 5 PM, occasional weekends
