The Laurel Society

The 10,000 Degrees solution is a successful model based on providing emotional, practical and financial support – from grammar school through college graduation. We know that students from low-income households who attend college, are far less likely to graduate – 24% vs. 56% for students from all income levels.

The Laurel Society was established to provide the critical direct support to students through four years of college (the normative time to a four-year degree). Donors to The Laurel Society of 10,000 Degrees pledge a minimum of $5,000 per year for four years. Laurel donors are matched with one or more students as they enter college. Twice annually (or more), we keep you abreast of the students’ progress through letters and updates from students, reports from 10,000 Degrees, or both.

Through your generous support as a member of The Laurel Society, you can change the lives of not only students, but entire families. Many students are the first in their families to attend college, and their success creates a model for siblings, the community, and future generations.

You can help one student right now. We hope you will be the next to join the Laurel Society!
