03 Jul Bridge to a Brighter Future
In partnership with College of Marin, incoming 10,000 Degrees community college students just completed their first session of our Summer Bridge program, a three-week math, English, and counseling support program that also covers study skills, time management, and cohort building. Of the 74 students who participated, 60% improved in at least one level in math and/or English and earned at least one unit of transferable college credit. Well done!
The 10,000 Degrees Summer Bridge program was developed and launched three summers ago and has grown from 23 students in the summer of 2014 to over 125 students this year. Similar programs include MathJam at Contra Costa College, where 10,000 Degrees is working with Richmond Promise to support 77 incoming community college students. At the same time, 10,000 Degrees is busy supporting incoming community college students taking summer classes at Santa Rosa Junior College. Keep up the good work everyone!
