Below is a list of outside scholarships not administered by 10,000 Degrees. Each of these scholarships have been awarded to at least one 10,000 Degrees student in recent years, so we encourage you to explore these outside opportunities.

AAUW Scholarship
- This resource provides a range of scholarships, each with unique eligibility criteria and deadlines.
Abraham Lincoln High School of San Francisco Alumni Association Scholarship
- Please check scholarship page for individual requirements
Alan and Ruth Stein Scholarship
- BRIDGE residents. High school seniors planning to go to college, longtime workers hoping to acquire skills to advance in a firm or change careers, parents returning to or continuing college while working, and people making the difficult transition from welfare to work. The institutions they hope to attend include public and private colleges, vocational schools, and certification and job skills programs.
Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship
- Be a high school senior in the U.S. who is currently enrolled in or who has completed a high school or college dual degree course where computer science, engineering, or robotics is the subject. Students who have not taken this course can opt-in to take an assessment offered by Amazon.
- Must be authorized to work in the US. Example: Employment Authorization Document holder, Permanent Resident, or US Citizen.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Be planning to attain a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or other computer science related field of study from an accredited 4-year college or from a 2-year college with the intent to transfer to a 4-year college.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
- Federal Pell Grant eligible
- Accepted into a study abroad/ Int’l intern program for at least four consecutive weeks
The California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation
- Be a full time student (undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing at an accredited college or university, OR
- Be a graduating high school senior with written proof of acceptance at an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5
California’s Wine Grape Growers Foundation
- Be graduating from high school and planning to attend a California four-year university/state college or a two-year community college in the fall.
- Have a parent or legal guardian who was employed by a California winegrape grower during the current or past growing season.
Calkids
- Low-income* public school students enrolled in grades 1-12 during 2021-2022 academic year
Children of Vineyard Workers
- Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, Santa Rosa Junior College students or continuing four-year college students who have or will have a major in Agriculture or an Agriculture-related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required for all scholarship applicants.
- Farm Bureau Foundation scholarships are available only to undergraduate students.
- An additional essay, specific major or number of registered units may be required depending upon the scholarship.
Chime Scholarship
- If you are eligible to receive the federal Pell grant to attend your school/program, then you qualify. Scholarship payments are administered in two ways for accredited colleges/universities:
- For the Chime Scholars Foundation Scholarship scholars: Scholarship checks will be sent directly to your college at the start of the academic year annually.
- For the CSF Loan Repayment scholarship: Scholarships will be paid directly to your student loan issuer after your graduation. This will be a one-time lump sum payment.
College Board Opportunity Scholarships
- Students must have a College Board account and attend public or private high school or are enrolled in a home school in the United States, Puerto Rico, or any other U.S. territories, and U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools
College is Real Scholarship
- Students must have attended one of Richmond’s three public high schools (Richmond, De Anza, and Kennedy) in Richmond, California.
College of Marin Scholarships
- You must be a current or future COM student to apply for scholarships.
- Are graduating senior from Balboa HS, Galileo HS, Mission HS, Burton HS, or KIPP SF College Prep in the Class of 2026
- Intend to enroll in a postsecondary program at an accredited bachelor’s degree granting public or non-profit college in Fall 2026
- Have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Completed a FAFSA or CADAA application
- Have an SAI below 10,000
- Are enrolled full-time
- Meet the A-G requirement
CSEA Dependent Scholarship

Graduating high school seniors who attend a Napa Valley Unified School District high school: American Canyon High School, Napa High School, New Tech High School, Napa Valley Independent Studies, Valley Oak High School or Vintage High School
Candidates must:
- Be in good academic standing
- Have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0
- Be planning to attend a trade/vocational college or a two- or four-year college/university pursuing undergraduate studies
- Demonstrate financial need

- Consideration is given to first generation college students (i.e. neither parent has obtained a Bachelor’s Degree)
Damian Maldonado Memorial Scholarship Fund
- Open to High school seniors that graduate at any of the high schools in Napa Valley, including Calistoga High School, St. Helena High School, Justin- Siena High School, Napa High School, New Technology High School and Valley Oaks High School.
- Students will need to submit proof of attendance to a 2 year college, a 4 year college or a technical post-secondary institution.
Dell Scholarship
- Be a high school senior participating in an approved college readiness program
- Plan to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university right after high school
- Be Pell Grant eligible
- Have at least a 2.4 GPA
Don and Roy Splawn Scholarship
- California graduating high school seniors. students who demonstrate significant dedication to their school, family and community. Students who live independently or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) struggle financially are encouraged to apply for consideration.
Doyle Scholarship
- Local high school graduates
- Unweighted High School GPA of 2.0* or greater
- Must submit the FAFSA or CADAA application
- Enroll in a minimum of 6 units at SRJC
- Complete an SRJC Orientation
- Have an SRJC education plan developed with an academic counselor
Eddie Ashley Scholarship
- The Eddie Ashley scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors from a Low income background who are recognized for their academic excellence, character, and ability to overcome obstacles.
- Established to assist students who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school.
- Currently, this scholarship serves the following Bay Area high schools: El Cerrito high school, Kennedy high school (Richmond), Richmond high school, and San Rafael high school.
Elsie Allen High School (EAHS) Foundation
- Graduating seniors who plan to continue their education
- Multiple Scholarships offered and each scholarship Will have its own application. All applicants Must first apply for the general scholarship and then apply for the specialty scholarships.

Fish and Wildlife Commission Scholarship
- Resident of Sonoma County
- Enrollment in, or plan to enroll in a course of study in the area of botany, zoology, environmental science, marine science, resource management, natural science, wildlife conservation, resource conservation/restoration, fisheries or other biology, or oceanography at a California college campus
Fruit of the Vine
- Napa County graduating high school seniors who will be attending an accredited, non-profit, four-year college/university pursuing undergraduate study in any field. Preference given to applicants planning to attend a California public university (UC or CSU).
- Napa Valley College students who will be transferring to an accredited, non-profit, four year college/university pursuing undergraduate study in any field. Preference given to applicants planning to attend a California public university.
- Napa County High School Seniors who will be attending Napa Valley College or Santa Rosa Junior College with the goal of transferring to a four-year college/university.
- 13-19 years old (on January 5, 2024)

Investment in Success Scholarship
- The Investment in Success scholarship program gives high school seniors who demonstrate an active pursuit of education in spite of hardships to attain a higher education. Although these students may not fit the traditional profile of a high academic performer, they have overcome significant obstacles to achieve their goals, demonstrating extraordinary potential and strength of character. If they remain eligible, scholarship recipients retain their scholarship through the entirety of their education.
- Investment in Success scholarship applicants are nominated through one of the California Masonic Foundation’s educational partnerships.

Jack Kent Cook Foundation
- The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is dedicated to advancing the education of exceptionally promising students who have financial need.

Leaf Scholarship
- Any student attending an accredited California community college or state university majoring in a landscape-related program is eligible to apply.
- Students attending a community college must carry a minimum of 9 units to qualify. Students at a state college or university must carry a minimum of 12 units to qualify. Certificate programs alone are not eligible.
- Three letters of recommendation are required. One of these three letters must be from a CURRENT instructor or counselor. The other two can be from a CURRENT OR RECENT employer, club/activity advisor, previous instructor or church leader. If reapplying, please supply current letters.
- A copy of your college transcript(s) from each college attended is required.
Legacy Funds of HNU Scholarship
- Must reside in the Bay Area, priority will be given to students who reside in Oakland, CA.
- Must enroll in an accredited four-year California college or university
- Demonstrate financial need
- Show a commitment to community service, education, or social justice
- Submit a complete application including essay, transcripts, and resume
- Awards range from $10,000 and up based on merit, need, and available funding
- Applicant must a graduating high school senior schools in Napa County, California
- Applicant must plan to attend a two- or four-year college/university.

The Medtronic Spark Scholarship
- Designed for students who demonstrate academic potential and leadership capabilities.
- Students must be pursuing associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and/or job-ready credentials (and global equivalents) in health tech and healthcare related fields.
- Available to students from low-income households across the globe who live in eligible locations.
- Must attend a high school in Marin County

Middle Class Scholarship
- Be a California resident attending a University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), or a CA Community College (CCC) Bachelor’s degree program
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or meet requirements for non-tuition exemption (such as AB 540)
- Academic-year specific: Meet income and asset ceilings
- Students attending college between July 2025 and June 2026: up to $234,000
- Students attending college between July 2024 and June 2025: up to $226,000
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
- Not be in default on a student loan or incarcerated
Must attend one of the following schools:
- MVLA High School District (including MVLA Adult Ed)

- Financial need is considered but not a requirement for the scholarships.

- Must be of Hispanic Heritage, residing or family residence in Napa County;

Native Forward Scholars Fund
- We provide financial support for American Indians and Alaska Natives seeking higher education, and support them in attaining undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
- We partner with Tribes, the federal government, foundations, corporations, and individuals to ensure the growth and sustainability of scholarships.
Northern California Scholarship Foundation
- Eligible students from public high schools in Northern California are nominated by their school, selected for an interview, interviewed by the Trustees to receive the scholarship.
- In order to retain the scholarship, each selected student must maintain a high level of academic achievements, citizenship and leadership.
- Must graduate during the 2025-26 school year from an Oakland district or charter high school
- Have earned a 2.00 unweighted GPA as of your Spring 11th grade unofficial transcript
- Demonstrate a financial need, which can include,
- Qualifying for free/reduced lunch
- Being unhoused
- Being involved in the foster care system
- From completing your FAFSA/CADAA, having an SAI of 25,000 or less
- Plan to attend a 4-year, 2-year, or Career Technical Education program full time
This application is for all students graduating from high school in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties who plan to matriculate into a 4-year college or university or for a select few students who are beginning their college journey at a community college with the intention of transferring to a 4-year college or university to complete their Bachelor’s degree.
Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF)
- Scholarships awarded to students and schools in the Petaluma area.
- There are many scholarships available and requirements vary based on the specific scholarship.
- Was in foster care or Guardianship including KinGAP (dependent of the court) at least one day after age 13 in Santa Clara County or San Mateo County
- Was in foster care or Guardianship including KinGAP (dependent of the court) at least one day after age 13 in another county and is living in or attending school in Santa Clara County or San Mateo County.
- Have earned a High School Diploma or GED or will have earned one before the start of the upcoming year.
- Have a 2.0 HS Cumulative GPA or a 2.0 College Cumulative GPA (if in college already)
- Have applied for the FAFSA or Dream Act by the priority deadline and are eligible to receive all federal and state financial aid.
- Have been accepted to or will be attending community college, university, or vocational school for the upcoming year. *Please note, the Pivotal scholarship cannot fund For-Profit Institutions.
- Only low income students will be considered for this scholarship program. A typical recipeints family income does not exceed $80,000.
- Must have graduated from one of the high schools targeted by the Pursuit of Excellence, living between San Francisco and San Jose area.
- Students must graduate from high school in good standing planning to attend a 4-year university or a community college and then transfer to a 4-year institution. For community college transfer applicants, students must apply to transfer to a UC and be eligible to transfer the year they apply for POE.
- Preference given to students that have worked during their high school years.
- The Redwood High School Foundation (RHSF), in addition to other endowed scholarships that utilize the same application, award scholarships annually to students graduating from Redwood High School who will be enrolled in an accredited college, trade school or university. The scholarship awards offered are based on the student’s completed application, teacher recommendation, transcript, and are heavily weighted for demonstrated financial need
- Be a resident of the City of Richmond or North Richmond (i.e. have a Richmond home address)
- Graduate or have graduated from an eligible high school within the West Contra Costa Unified School District boundary area or received your GED/high school equivalency this academic year, last academic year or the year prior (For the 2026-27 application year, scholars who are graduating in 2025-26, or who already graduated in 2024-25 or 2023-24 are eligible).
- Have attended an eligible high school at least 9th-12th grade consecutively
- Complete the FAFSA/Dream Act by the March 2 Cal Grant deadline (unless not AB 540 eligible)
- Submit a Richmond Promise Scholarship application by the application deadline
- The Rotary Club of Terra Linda offers scholarships to graduating seniors from Terra Linda High School and Marin Catholic High School who reside in the 94903 – zip code area.
- Graduating senior from Terra Linda or Marin Catholic High and residing in Terra Linda
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Financial Need
- Students must attend one of the following high schools: San Mateo, Aragon, Hillsdale, Junipero Serra, or the College of San Mateo and are planning to attend a four-year college during the next school year, to be eligible for this scholarship.
- Criteria for this scholarship program are the following: financial need, grade point and test scores, community and school activities, work experience, and acceptance at a four-year institution. This scholarship is awarded for one year only. The Counseling and Financial Aid offices at each school will have the new link each year to provide to students wanting to apply for this scholarship. The school counselors can tell interested students more about the application process.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Be a resident of the incorporated City of San Pablo.
- Be a high school graduate with priority given to graduates of the schools listed below OR have received GED/high school equivalency within the last three academic years with an age limit of 24 years old at time of application.
- Have submitted FAFSA or Dream Act request for funding if planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college.
- Priority will be given to first-time students in a 2-year or 4-year college, or career technical education (CTE) nonprofit school or program in the Fall immediately after graduation (unless applicant has GED/high school equivalency).
- Sausalito and Marin City with Zip Code 94965, and must be planning to attend college, graduate school or a trade or art school as a full-time student (minimum 9 credits per semester).
The Scholarship Foundation at Archie Williams High School (formerly known as the Drake Foundation)
- Archie Williams seniors are encouraged to apply for these scholarships each spring. Awards are given to college or vocational school-bound seniors who meet academic, financial and community involvement criteria established by the board.
- Graduate of an SFUSD high school
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- African American male
- Enrolling in a 2-year college, 4-year university, or vocational program in the fall
- Complete ScholarMatch’s College-Ready Milestones: 1-8
- Have met with your College Coach at least six times
- Have an SAI under $20,000 (preference is given to students who are Pell Eligible or have an SAI of $0)
- Plan on attending a four-year college
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parent/guardian has a bachelor’s degree) *
- Varies, most of the scholarships are available to California residents only
You are eligible to apply if you are a woman who:
- Provides the primary financial support for yourself and your dependents. Dependents can include children, spouse, partner, siblings and/or parents.
- Has financial need.
- Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
- Is motivated to achieve your education and career goals.
- Resides in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas’ member countries/territories (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Northern Mariana Islands, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Taiwan, United States of America, Venezuela).
- Has not previously been the recipient of a Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity or Live Your Dream Award.

- Applicant must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (“D.C.”) located within the United States or D.C., or the dependent child of an active duty member of the U.S. military, who is at least 16 years of age and no older than 26 years of age.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational program located in the United States or D.C. (including accredited two- and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical, and trade schools) and in good academic standing.
- Applicant must be willing to work with the Taco Bell Foundation’s Scholarship Management Company throughout the application and award process.
Tzu Chi Foundation Scholarship
- Applicant demonstrates financial need for college tuition and related expenses.
- Applicant is a U.S. high school graduating senior or equivalent.
- Applicant has a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Applicant will enroll in an accredited U.S. college full-time.
Voyager Scholarship
Applicants must meet ALL of the following eligibility criteria. Applicants must meet these eligibility requirements both at the time of application and enrollment for the Fall 2025 term.
- Current college Sophomores who plan to enroll full-time in their junior year of study at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States in Fall 2025.
Demonstrate financial need
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Students are required to upload unofficial transcripts as part of the application process.
Have demonstrated a commitment to public service.
- Plan to pursue a future career in public service upon graduation.
Able to commit to fully participating in once per month programming including individual meetings with coaches and network connections as well as developing an actionable Summer Voyage plan.
- Qualifying students must either have lived in coastal West Marin for at least one year immediately prior to application OR be a student at, or recent graduate of Tomales High School (Coastal West Marin includes the following areas: Bolinas, Dillon Beach, Inverness, Marshall, Muir Beach, Nicasio, Olema, Point Reyes Station, Stinson Beach, and Tomales, CA.)

National Forum for Black Public Administrators
- This program recognizes African American or other minority students who are currently enrolled full-time at an accredited, traditional four-year college or university, preferably at an HBCU, who show outstanding scholarship, and leadership, particularly as related to public service. Graduate students are eligible to apply!
- Be a graduating, minority high school senior
- Be a United States citizen
- Present evidence of financial need
- Demonstrate a record of academic excellence
- Demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service
- Submit an official SAT and/or ACT test exam score from junior or senior year*
- Plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university
- Have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college.
- You must be an African-American high school senior bound for a 2-or 4-year college, technical or trade school and residing in one of these Southwest Georgia or San Francisco Bay Area counties. Or a prior Gaines-Jones Scholar currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate, technical, or medical school/residency.
- Scholarship for minority students who meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria and have a minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Students must be nominated by an educator familiar with the student’s work.

Chicana Latina Foundation
- Self-identify as a Chicana and/or Latina
- Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or community college in one of the following California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, San Francisco, Sonoma, or Yolo

Community College and Undergraduate students must:

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
- -US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, or DACA
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
- Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the US for the 2026-2027 academic year
- Complete and submit the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- The HSF Scholar Program is open to students of all races who identify as being of Hispanic heritage
- CHCI provides leadership, public service, and policy experiences to outstanding Latino/a/x students and young professionals, and convenes Members of Congress and other public officials, corporate executives, nonprofit advocates, and thought leaders to discuss issues facing the nation and the Hispanic community.

California Chafee Grant for Foster Youth
- Be a current or former foster youth who was a ward of the court, living in foster care, between the ages of 16 and 18.
- Not have reached their 26th birthday as of July 1st of the award year.
- Be enrolled in an eligible vocational school or college courses at least half-time.
- Be making satisfactory academic progress.
Foster Youth Waiver- Tuition Waiver For Current & Former Foster Care Recipients
Students who have been in foster care for at least 12 consecutive months after reaching 10 years of age must meet any of the following criteria:
Is under a current foster care placement order from juvenile court
Was under a foster care placement order from juvenile court upon reaching 18 years of age
Was adopted or entered guardianship from foster care
Be 25 of age or younger on the first day of the academic year
In addition to the above, a student must fulfill all of the following:
Be a California resident
Maintain minimum grade point average (academic standards by campus)
Be in academic good standing with the university
Enrolled in a undergraduate program (any major)
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually
Meet the financial need requirements established for Cal Grant A
EOPS & NextUp Programs
Was under a foster care placement order from juvenile court upon reaching 18 years of age
To be eligible for NextUp, students must:
- Be current or former foster youth (from any state)
- Have dependency as a foster youth established or continued by the court on or after their 13th birthday
- Be no older than 25 years of age at the commencement of any academic year in which the student first enrolls in the program.
Adoption STAR Academic Scholarship Program
Eligibility information:
- Adopted students are also eligible for this scholarship.

Memorial Scholarship
- For post-high school education dependents (children and spouses) of roadway workers killed or permanently disabled in work zone incidents
ALL-STAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must have been adopted or exited foster care to permanent guardianship at or after the age of thirteen (13)
Applicants must demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA Application.
Applicants must be incoming or current college students, age 21 or younger at the time that the application is submitted, accepted to or attending an accredited college or university located in the United States
Foster Love Scholarship
Can apply with a guardian’s signature. Applicants turning twenty-four (24) years before June 1st of the application year can apply.
The applicant has been accepted to or expects acceptance to an accredited, Pell-eligible college or other post-secondary institution, and is attempting to complete an undergraduate degree.
The applicant graduated with a high school diploma or GED, or is currently a high school senior, with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 or higher. If currently attending college, a 2.5 CGPA is also required.
The applicant is a citizen of the United States of America.
The applicant has lived in foster care while living in the United States.
The applicant had either (a) lived in public or private foster care for the twelve (12) consecutive months leading up to and including the applicant’s eighteenth (18th) birthday; OR (b) was adopted or placed into legal guardianship from foster care after the applicants thirteenth (13th) birthday, OR (c) was orphaned for at least one (1) year at the time of Recipient’s eighteenth (18th) birthday.
Mark Sherman Law Juvenile Justice Scholarship
The scholarship is open to any current high school senior, vocational student, college student or graduate student who is a legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia and who is enrolled in a vocational program or two to four year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2025 semester.
Candidates for this scholarship should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in good overall academic standing.
Guardian Scholars
The Guardian Scholars Program is a comprehensive program with the goal of supporting former foster youth in their efforts to gain a college education. Through advocacy, support, and empowerment, the Guardian Scholars Program creates vibrant communities on California college and university campuses to engage current and former foster youth to attain college degrees, stable housing, and career-path employment.
