Summer Bridge at College of Marin (1:55)

Summer Bridge is a three-week program that is designed to help graduating seniors successfully transition into college. In addition to providing math and English support, goals include preparing more students for full-time matriculation through completion of priority enrollment steps, increasing students’ confidence in college ability and study habits, connecting students to campus resources, and facilitating a positive learning community.

The program is presented in partnership with College of Marin, a community college in Kentfield, CA. Every year, roughly 100-150 students participate in Summer Bridge.

Launched in 2014 with a cohort of 24 students, Summer Bridge was designed as an intensive multi-week session to prepare first-generation college students beginning classes in the fall. Since then, the program has expanded each year and has helped hundreds of students improve their scores on English and math placement tests, develop good study habits, learn about resources available on campus, and create their academic plan.
