12 May College Prep Forum Draws Broad Audience
Over 100 school administrators and board members, advocacy groups, civic leaders, and individuals signed up for College Prep: Who Gets It, Who Doesn’t & Why? co-presented by 10,000 Degrees and Education Trust West on May 7 in Santa Rosa. The forum focused on the importance of college ready curriculum (called A-G) for all students from a variety of viewpoints and backed by subtstantive data.
Kim Mazzuca opened the forum, 10,000 Degrees College Advisor Diana Cruz and Fellow Saga Apostol-Guedez told their own stories, Ed Trust Policy Analyst Leni Wolf presented research, and Dr. Linda Murray presented a case study of successful implementation of A-G curriculum in San Jose Unified Schools. A lively question and answer session followed.
10,000 Degrees and Education Trust West plan to host additional community dialogues on this subject in the coming year.
